Would We Come Back?
Yes, food was good, and it's the perfect dinner for a sunset!

We ate at Marina Piccolo because we had a coupon from the apartment we were staying at and because it's on the water. We weren't sure if we'd get a table, but luckily we got one and it was closest to the water! We started off with a Seafood sampler, similar to the one at Billy, though not nearly as extensive or fancy. Whereas the Amalfi Coast was known for its amazing seafood salad appetizers, Cinque Terre seemed do a seafood sampler, comprising of raw and cooked items. Though seafood salad is one of my all time favorite things to eat, it was nice to enjoy something different. It also allows you to try a bunch of different and new things.

For dinner I ordered a ravioli with walnut sauce; I had seen it on a lot of menus and learned it was a Ligurian (the region of Italy that includes Cinque Terre) specialty. Liguria has some delicious specialties - including pesto, focaccia, and now this walnut sauce! I'm so glad I chose to not order seafood for a night because this pasta was amazing and super unique. It was a creamy sauce, but the texture and flavor of the walnuts added a whole other dimension and complexity to the dish. I loved it!

Brad ordered a crab pasta in a tomato sauce. He really like the seafood flavor, but it was a lot of work to get the seafood out - another difference between the seafood here and the Amalfi Coast. The Amalfi Coast almost always took the seafood out of its shell before it was served to you, but in Cinque Terre it was always the opposite - in the shell, always causing you grief.

The restaurant was great to enjoy the sunset, even though the land jutted out preventing us from actually being able to see the sun disappear. The water and the sky were beautiful! After dinner we went to take a few night photos of the town!
