The immediate priority for my mom and I whenever we go to the west coast is to get some clam chowder...like that is literally our first destination when leaving the airport. When Brad and I got to Seattle, we didn't even have to leave the airport to grab some at Anthony's. But of course one bowl while on the west coast simply is not nearly enough for the visit! While in Lacey, we only had chowder once, so when we headed into Seattle, my goal was to go chowder hoppin!!
Our first stop was the Athenian in Pike Place Market. We were starving and pretty much just went to the first place we could find some chowder. Funny enough, it was the same restaurant that my mom and I had eaten at the last time we were in Seattle. We all ordered a cup of clam chowder. It was a very, very rich, thick chowder. It wasn't everyone's fav, but I thoroughly enjoyed it, as it was the first cup of chowder of the day!
