When we stopped in Greve in Chianti we had no idea our driver had already planned a snack and wine tasting for us! He is friends with those who own this Butcher/Cheese shop so he took us in for a treat.

We got to try 4 different variations of the same cheese, it was pecorino I believe. We tried regular, aged, with crushed red pepper, and with truffle! The truffle one was definetely our favorite but they were all great. I also liked to dip the crushed red pepper one in the honey, it was so good. Even the bread was great, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.

The fun didn't stop at the cheese though, we also got to try so homemade prosciutto that just melted in your mouth! We were given the choice to sample either Chianti Classico or Brunello di Montalcino; as we would not be tasting Brunello di Montalcino wines on our winery tour, we decided to try those. Both of those types of wines are comprised mainly of the sangiovese grape and are similar but this Brunello di Montalcino was particularly good!

Oh, one other thing we got to do was tour their cheese cave! If you're ever in Greve I'd suggest stopping here for lunch, amazing!
