Rustic, Seasonal Menu
Would We Come Back?
Nah, it was good, but the menu, prices, and small portions wouldn't lure us back.
I decided to take Katherine out for an evening at the theater to watch a collection of short films, it was kind of a themed gift to go along with a collection of short films I got her from one of her favorite directors. I'm telling you this because going to the Atlas Theater in DC shaped my choice of restaurant. I selected Boundary Road not only because it was only a few blocks from the theater but also because I saw a few things on the menu I thought Katherine would really like - namely the Rockfish with cotriade.
Katherine's main course was the reason that I chose the restaurant to start with. At first she wasn't sure if she would like it because she didn't know what a cotriade was. I convinced her that she should try it and it turned out great! The Rockfish was grilled perfectly, there was a good sear and was flaky inside.
Lastly was my main, a winter farro risotto. My second favorite vegetable to asparagus is brussels sprouts so I had to order this. The brussel sprouts, roasted beets and glazed carrots all tasted good but unfortunately the risotto was a disaster. I don't know why I cant find a good risotto but thus far it has been under cooked everywhere I've tried.
It was a nice evening and a good dinner overall, especially getting to try a new food - goat, but I will now continue my search for a noteworthy risotto!
