Would We Come Back?
I don't think so, ended up working out as a last minute choice but not that special.

When we decided to go to Origins we initially had a hard time choosing a restaurant. We wanted to go to tapas bar down the street but it looked too packed and so we settled for this place. We were hesitant because we aren't rookies and we know that when there are pictures on a menu that often means that its a tourist trap with mass produced, reheated food - not what you want.

Alhough there were pictures on menu we thought it might still be good because they had seasonal menus and that signaled to us that it would be fresh and delicious. They had a great variety and were very reasonably priced.

Yes, the extensive flavor list and giant portions of this super creamy gelato are great reasons to come back.

By this point Katherine and I had enjoyed so much gelato in Germany as well as previous trips to Italy to have become experts. This place you should definitely check out (we went twice). It is a little pricey but the serving of a single scoop is massive and mounded high on your cup or cone and well worth the money.

They have a large variety of flavors and many of them were unique flavor combinations that sound so good, yet we hadn't seen them at other places. Pictured below is our favorite flavor, the gelato form of the well known Catalonian dessert, Crema Catalana.

Would We Come Back?
Yeah, everything we had was delicious and it's a cool place to eat at.

So the 4 Gats was a really important stop for me in Barcelona. This is where my brother proposed to his wife and I wanted to visit. Of course I knew that the food had to be good but I was still blown away. Barcelona definitely provided me with some excellent food.

Besides the good food, the restaurant itself has a lot of history. It was a favorite hangout of Pablo Picasso. He even made many paintings to hang on the restaurant's walls. Although the originals of these paintings are now in museums, replicas of them are now in their places.

Definitely, excellent twists on traditional Spanish tapas and so many choices!

It was our last night in Malaga, and I really wanted to try the food at El Tapeo de Cervantes because I had read excellent things about it and it was right around the corner from the flamenco show. We had snacked earlier, but I knew Brad would be starving afterwards, so we opted for a late dinner. The place was a little cramped, but it had that mom and pop kinda feel to it, as the owner (I presume) greeted us like a grandpa would. I wasn't too hungry but I just wanted to try everything on the menu!

Duh, they had a spargel menu! And the other
German food was really good, too.

Landhaus Müller is an awesome restaurant, after a great day on the Rhine; after visiting 2 different castles and seeing countless others on the drive, we were in search for some good soup. Tim and Stephanie were craving goulashsuppe , Katherine was craving kartoffelsuppe and I wanted spargelsuppe. We found a restaurant that actually had a spargel menu! Spargel, or asparagus, is my favorite vegetable by far! Everyone else likes it too but they make fun of how excited I get for it.

We got to Germany just before the spargel season started but this restaurant already had a spargel menu so I went spargel crazy! We all had spargelsuppe which is a cream soup made with white asparagus, Germany doesn't seem to use the green variety. It's so velvety and packed with asparagus flavor...and a lot of cream...yum! It also has whole chunks of spargel and is the perfect appetizer.

Would We Go Back?
Definitely not! I wouldn't recommend anyone ever go here.

For dinner in the city we decided to stop off for some Thai food at Main Thai. We expected big bold Thai flavor but it definitely was not! For starters, I noticed their Thai iced tea, one of my favorite drinks when I have Thai...everyone else seemed to like it but it was awful; there was no coconut milk! It was okay if you wanted a watered down, extra sweet drink but I wasn't a fan, and it tasted nothing like what I was used to.

Yes, pastries are better than most and the quark balls are the best we've found outside of Neuschwanstein.

We actually stopped in here a couple of times because it's probably the best bakery in Rothenburg. First time, I noticed quark balls!!! But I had to limit myself so we only got a couple. Turns out it was pretty good. It wasn't fresh out of the oven (or probably frier) or as perfectly sweetened, but for having sat at room temperature, it was the closest we would come to matching the quark balls from Neuschwanstein.

Oh yes!! Super cheap and spätzle was extra noms!!

As you will soon learn, I did a ton of research on good restaurants for our trip to Spain. Germany, however, I did nothing, knowing little about German cuisine and not thinking I would fall in love with it. However, after several amazing meals with spätzle, I just wanted more!! There didn't seem to be too much variety with the way spätzle is prepared, usually cheesy or as a side dish with the main meal. So my craving caused me to do a quick search for our day in Rothenburg and that's how I found Spätzle Schwob. Funny thing is I didn't even write down the address, we just happened upon it. And it was delicious!

Definitely, food was really good and there's a lot more we'd love to order.

After looking for manatees, we were ready for some lunch! We walked around in Melbourne looking for a good menu and settled on Island Pasta Company. The menu looked delicious, was reasonable priced, and happened to be run by the same people as River Rocks.

First, I got the Island Crab Chowder, which had tasty chunks of crab and sweet potatoes. The soup was so good and unique that I contemplated ordering another one for dessert. Brad got a bleu cheese and candied walnut salad, which is our favorite kind of salad. This one also had grapes, which I thought was a nice addition.

Yes, seafood was really good, though some of it was pricey considering the sides were nothing interesting. However, there were many cheaper options and the chowder was damn good.

Being that I was staying literally right across the street from the ocean, I had to get some seafood! I wanted fresh fish and good soup or chowder. I looked up some places and found River Rocks, which has the options of dining inside, which is fancier and more expensive, or dining outside on the docks, which is right on the river. We opted for outside seeing as we were in Florida; it was nice out and the food was cheaper but still plentiful!

Of course there were some good looking soups on the menu. I was tempted to get the gator chili because I was craving some gator, especially since I was in Florida, but I'm not a big fan of chili. The waiter was nice enough to even bring me out a sample. For me there wasn't enough gator for it to be worth it. Brad's friend Mike got it, while Brad and I went for the lobster chowder. Which was amazing!! Super creamy, and the lobster chunks were noticeable and added a lot to the chowder in terms of flavor and texture.
