Upscale, Large Variety, Good Seafood, Excellent Service
Would We Come Back?
Yes, the menu had many more things we wanted to try and the service really amazed us. However, it's not at the top of the list of repeat restaurants.
The octopus was cooked well; it had the right texture. It was an interesting change to have it accompanied by something cold (a gazpacho vinaigrette). While it was nice to try octopus prepared in an unexpected way, the octopus itself still lacked an intense flavor. And the gazpacho kinda took away from the grill flavor that we love so much.
The shrimp was delicious! They were giant-sized and cooked just right. The pineapple salsa was bursting with juicy flavor and paired with a chipotle barbeque butter sauce. The savory and sweet mix worked perfectly, the sauce giving the dish an extra bite to it!
When Brad's scallops came, I was worried due to its small size. There wasn't much of a side to the meal, and brad can eat a lot. The scallops melted in your mouth, but there weren't enough of them. Luckily for him (but unluckily for Meghan), Meghan's appetite was lacking due to being sick, and she gave him a good majority of her gnocchi. Turns out, I was incredibly satisfied with my decision on dinner because the gnocchi was a tad too spicy for my taste.
Dinner was nice and relaxing. Almost 3 hours later, someone working at the restaurant asked us if we wouldn't mind moving to the lounge because it was busy and people were waiting. Now, after 3 hours of dining that is a perfectly reasonable request, especially since we had already paid our bill. But the guy offered to get us a round of drinks on the house. This gesture really showed that the restaurant looks out for its patrons. So we got another round of mojitos and gained a greater respect for the restaurant. We will definitely be back!
