I had been here two years ago so I knew exactly where to go, so have to sort of walk up an alley between buildings to get to the stairs up to the castle. The signs say its a 30 minute walk up but it only takes about 15. There is a longer and prettier way up but that was closed off this time. I think its because it goes through the castle gardens and vineyard which weren't in bloom while we were there.
Wurzberg is a very pretty town, it's small and feel homey. I love that it's on the water and the bridge crossing it is beautiful and full of statues. We also passed a restaurant that had asparagus ravioli as a special, I wish we had the time to go in!
Castle exterior is open daily and is free to walk around.
