I had been longing to go to SE Asia, ever since I saw some beautiful photos from Halong Bay and Angkor Wat ages ago on the internet. They went straight to the top of my list of places I wanted to travel to. Halong Bay was full of thousands of limestone mountains that randomly pop out of the water in crazy formations that are completely unlike anything you can see in the United States. And Angkor Wat was the master of all things ancient - a ruinous temple set in a far away land. I couldn't wait to explore it!
Less than a year later, I got two of my friends on board and plans started to fall in place. We were going to Vietnam (home of Halong Bay and terraced rice fields), Cambodia (home of Angkor Wat and so many more temples), and Thailand (home of elephants and stunning beaches). I researched perhaps even more than usual, marking up maps with sites to see and yummy places to eat. Turns out planning was a piece of cake.
I crossed two major things off of my bucket list and had an amazing time! All I can think about now is planning another trip! Stay tuned for more on our adventures in Southeast Asia!
