For dinner one night in Washington, we stopped at Rock Wood Fired Pizza. The first thing I noticed when we sat down was that they served craft beers, accordingly I ordered a sampler of 6 of them. I'd say that 3 of them were w/e but the Red, the IPA and the stout were all very good. My only complaint was that one of the glasses was chipped and I think I swallowed a tiny piece of glass!!! Turns out if I did, I didn't die :) Also, the restaurant didn't charge me for the sampler and gave me a free full sized beer to make up for it.

So I saw the beer first, Katherine saw the chowder. We ordered a bowl right away and it was actually very good. Good enough that Katherine ordered a second bowl before we left the restaurant.

For our pizzas we got the Wild Child: mozzarella, bleu cheese, sauteed spinach, marinated mushrooms and whole oven roasted garlic cloves. It was so good, we love garlic so whole cloves are right up our alley and the marinated mushrooms were really good. We asked, and they marinate them in italian dressing...we might need to make these at home.

The other pizza we got was Evil Ways: A rich pesto cream sauce topped with artichoke hearts, red onions, spinach, mozzarella and sundried tomatoes. The pesto was good but still can't match the standard of Katherine's pesto. What I really loved about the pizza was the artichoke hearts. I hadn't thought to put them on a pizza before, but now I will!

Let's make this at my house when the weather breaks on the charcoal grill. Grilled pizza is soooooo good :)
