by Katherine ![]() Our last stop was Generalife, an area basically consisting of a bunch of gardens. It was the area where the kings of years past would would escape to relax and get away from all the hustle and bustle. Generalife offers good views of the Alhambra, being that the Alhambra and Generalife are both situated on hills but with a decent distance in between. After a day of walking around Granada and several hours of walking through the Alhambra, we were pretty exhausted. We were lucky we made it through Generalife, but it was worth the struggle. By the time we reached Generalife, it was getting late in the day. The Alhambra attracts thousands of visitors each day, yet there didn't seem to be many people in sight. It was a rare treat, and I suggest an afternoon visit so that you as well can experience having Generalife all to yourself. We ran into maybe 10 other people here. It truly felt like the relaxing retreat that it once was. We also really enjoyed the streams of water running down the railings of several stairways outside. Overall, the Alhambra is a stunning place to visit! Visiting Information near bottom of this page.
