We could have taken a chance and done the Walk of the Gods, but that could have ended up a terrible mistake. We had to have a driver take us to the top of the mountains in order to start the hike so we couldn't just impulsively start the hike if the weather seemed ok. And since the forecast called for rain, and sometimes even thunderstorms, we just couldn't take the chance of getting to the middle of nowhere and hiking down a steep-ass cliff with a path not much wider than our feet. I figured the trail conditions probably weren't the best either with all the recent rain. It just seemed like it could have been one giant slip and slide right into the sea. So we sacrificed something awesome for the safety of our lives. Can't regret our choice too much because it DID rain each day.
So on our first full day, we decided to go to Capri, the island less than an hour's ride from the Amalfi peninsula. Besides the Blue Grotto, there were still plenty of things I wanted to do on Capri. For such a small island (only 4 square miles), I felt like we could have spent weeks here exploring! When we had woken up, it was misting outside, but there were times throughout the day where the sun was shining brightly (also a thunderstorm, but that's for another story). So off we went to Capri!
